The Howell Highlanders continued their historic season with a 35-12 victory over Kalamazoo Central in the first round of playoffs, achieving an unprecedented 10th win in school history.

Justin Jones led the rushing attack with 106 yards and a touchdown, adding to his impressive season total of 1,457 yards and 22 touchdowns. Sophomore Bryce Kish added two touchdowns to the victory, while Grant Stewart's crucial interception before halftime helped maintain the Highlanders' momentum. Senior Aiden Horvath contributed defensively, on special teams and with a 26-yard touchdown run.

The victory sets up an exciting district championship game against rival Brighton next Friday at 7 p.m. at home. This marks the fourth playoff meeting between the Little Brown Jug rivals. Adding to the season's achievements, Howell earned its first-ever No. 1 ranking in Division 1 in the Detroit Free Press rankings following their dramatic 30-29 victory over previously top-ranked Belleville.
